Karine and Benton had the best wedding weekend! What do you get when two electrical engineers get married....THE POWER COUPLE.  Yep, cheesy but that's what their friends call them.   One of the things that was so great about working with them, is that they had a very clear vision of what they wanted.  They chose bold and vivid colors for every aspect of the wedding.  Their church ceremony at St. Ann Catholic Church, was traditional and a mix of faiths.  Then everyone walked to The Ben and enjoyed cocktails, dinner and dancing.

Our incredible vendor partners were:

Karla Korn Photography

The Ben Hotel

St. Ann Catholic Church

Orange Blossoms Florals

Kiss This Make Up

The Tux Shop Palm Beach

Rock with U

Atlas Event Rental

Elements and Accents

Capture Pod - Halo Photo Booth

Society of Four Arts - Off Premise Bride and Groom Portraits

The Canopy West Palm Beach - Rehearsal Dinner

Earth and Sugar - Wedding Cake and Groom's Cake

We hope you enjoy their wedding as much as we did!

Hey everyone! We are launching our summer series of blogs with topics related to all things wedding!

As those wedding invitations arrive in the mail, it's time to think about what the etiquette and responsibilities when attending a wedding. We have compiled a list of  things to consider when you're a guest at a wedding, such as what to wear and how to behave. Being a wedding guest is both an honor and a responsibility. It's vital that you show your respect for the bride and groom by following some basic etiquette rules.

  1. Do dress appropriately for the wedding. This means avoiding anything that is too casual or too formal. The invitation or wedding website should indicate wedding attire.
  2. Do RSVP in a timely manner. This lets the couple know how many people to expect and helps them with their planning.
  3. Do arrive on time. If the ceremony is at 5:00PM, try to arrive at least 15 minutes early. This gives you time to find your seat and settle in before the ceremony begins.
  4. Do turn off your phone during the ceremony and reception.
  5. Do be respectful of the religion and traditions of the wedding.
  6. Do be considerate of the other guests. This means not talking too loudly, dancing inoffensively, and being generally mindful of others.
  7. Don't wear white or anything that could upstage the bride.
  8. Don't get too drunk. It's fine to have a few drinks, but don't overdo it.
  9. Don't take photos during the ceremony. Wait until after the couple has had their moment and be present in the moment. Don't forget they paid for a professional photographer. Leave the photos to them.
  10. Lastly, don't be a diva. This day is not about you. Leave your drama at home!

At the end of the day, the wedding is all about the bride and groom. Make sure that you keep them in mind throughout the entire process. Be respectful, be considerate, and most importantly - have fun!

So, 2021 has brought some really cool couples into our lives!  This year we have had 3 couples who live in Texas get married in Sunny South Florida!  Sometimes you just want a change of scenery and to be near the beach.  Sonni and Jason reached out and we had 3 months to plan their entire wedding.  And let's just say that their wedding was something really special!

We brought a slice of Texas to Palm Beach and it was a blast.  We had Topo Chico, a Texas Tech Groom's Cake, there may have been some boots and country music too! But most of all there was true love and joy in the celebration.

We hope you enjoy their day!

A huge shoutout to all of the wedding pros that made this beautiful, tropical wedding happen:

We have all been to weddings and events and we wonder...what the heck is wrong with some of these guests?!  So, I decided  to make a list of "Good Guest Rules."

Good Guest Rules

1.  Be on time - not too early and definitely not late.  We will not let you into the ceremony if the processional is still happening.   And when we do let you in, you will have to sit in the back.

2.  Do NOT take photos during the ceremony - We have had to move people out of the aisle so that the wedding party can walk down, grooms have been unable to see their brides as they walk down the aisle because of people leaning in with their phones or tablets.  Be in the moment.  It is an important ceremony...and take tons of photos at cocktails and the reception!

3.  Dress Appropriately - If the invitation says formal or black tie please wear formal or black tie.  If the invitation says resort chic or beach casual then khakis are appropriate.  Jeans are NEVER appropriate unless it is specifically stated on the invitation.

4.  Do not drink to excess - Just because there is an open bar doesn't mean you have to drink all of the alcohol...enough said.

5.  If you RSVP that you are attending, attend the event unless it is a major emergency (Like calling 911 emergency).  The couple has paid several hundred dollars for your meal, etc.   It is disrespectful to not show because you just didn't feel like it that day.

6.  If you are a female guest - Do NOT wear white.  The only time this is appropriate is if it is specifically stated by the couple that this is a black and white or all white wedding and they have noted the attire on the invitation or their website.

7.  Don't ask for a To-Go Box of your dinner - TACKY...

8.  Don't be rude to the waitstaff, or other wedding professionals.  Everyone has a job to do and wants to do it to the best of their abilities.  Sometimes, though you may have to wait a moment or two for your request to be filled.

9.  Have a great time and enjoy the celebration with the couple.

After all a wedding is a celebration of two people in love making a lifetime committment to each other!  Have fun with it and make lifelong memories!

You just never know where life will take you...be kind, be friendly and good things come your way.  I don't think I realized how true this really is until something really special happened.

In 2013, I attended ISSE (Inspire Smart Success Experience) in Palm Beach.  It was conference for wedding and event professionals. Boy did I feel inadequate and unprepared.  I mean these were all people who had been in the business longer than me, had bigger portfolios than me, and knew more than me...or so I thought.  I was so wrong and genuine friendships came out of those 3 days of learning!

Flash forward to 2016.  One of those fantastic people I met at ISSE, Oniki Cole, was engaged and her wedding was going to be in Florida.  And she wanted Fabuluxe to coordinate her wedding day. Whoa!  This is a huge honor and truly shows the power of connecting on a personal level.  And Oniki has her own Wedding Planning and Personal Styling Firm, Oh Niki Occasions.  She is a person full of grace and elegance and kindness.  When I met her fiance, Jamel, I knew that they were the perfect match.

Oniki curated every detail of her wedding day with love and care.  Each item was meaningful and full of her style. But what struck me the most was seeing the love between Oniki and Jamel shine through the entire wedding weekend. Their love was a living, breathing, thing and you just wanted to be around them so you could be part of it.

And, we got to work with other talented people that we met at ISSE.  Art Photo Soul Photography, Savvylicious Sweets, Evoga Events, Stationery Bliss.  When someone in our industry trusts us with their own personal wedding, it is such a unique and humbling feeling. So Thank You Oniki and Jamel...it was truly an honor!

A huge Thank You to everyone involved in Oniki and Jamel's Big Day!
