Happy 2023 Everyone!  As we move into a new year filled with possibilities we are going to share some tips and tricks along the way.  This week we are talking about wedding dress shopping....And NO, it's not like on Say Yes to the Dress.

Now that the time has finally come to start shopping for your dress, you want to make sure you find the perfect one. But with so many different styles, fabrics, and silhouette options out there, where do you even begin? Not to worry—we're here to help. Below is a rundown of what you can expect when shopping for your wedding dress, from finding the right salon to saying yes to the dress of your dreams.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment:

When it comes to finding a salon, it's important to do your research. Start by reading reviews online and asking friends or family members for recommendations. Most bridal salons require appointments for wedding dress shopping, so call ahead and schedule a time that works for you. When you arrive at the salon, you'll be greeted by a consultant who will ask you about your vision for your wedding day. Be as specific as possible in your answers; the more information the consultant has, the better they'll be able to help you find a dress that suits your style.

Next, the consultant will likely ask about your budget. Don't be afraid to be upfront about how much you're willing to spend on your gown; most salons have a wide range of options to suit any budget. Once the consultant has a good understanding of what you're looking for, they'll pull a selection of dresses for you to try on.

Here are some things to consider:

1. You'll Try on A Lot of Dresses

This is the fun part! The average bride tries on between 15-20 dresses before finding the one. With so many different styles, designers, and silhouettes available, it's important to try on a variety of dresses to ensure you find the perfect one for you. Don't get discouraged if you don't find the one right away; it takes most brides a little bit of time (and lots of dress fittings!) to find their dream gown.

2. Who will accompany you?

For most brides, wedding dress shopping is a group event. But remember that there are no rules when it comes to wedding dress shopping. If you want to bring your mom, sister, or best friend with you, go for it. But if you prefer to shop alone or with just your bridal consultant, that's OK too. The most important thing is that you find a dress that makes you feel confident and beautiful.

3. You May Feel a Bit Overwhelmed

As we mentioned before, with so many choices available it's normal to feel overwhelmed when wedding dress shopping. The best way to combat this is by doing your research ahead of time and having an idea of the style of dress you're looking for. This will help you narrow down your search and make the process less daunting. Trust us, once you find the perfect dress you'll know it!

Choosing the Right Dress

As you start trying on dresses, it's important to keep an open mind. You may think you want a certain style of gown only to find that something completely different looks best on you. Trust your consultant's opinion and take their suggestions into consideration; after all, they know what looks good on different body types. With so many gorgeous gowns to choose from, it can be tough to pick just one. But don't worry—you'll know when you've found THE ONE. Pay attention to how you feel when trying on different dresses. Do you feel like a princess in one particular dress? Do you love the way it looks but not necessarily how it feels? Or do you feel completely comfortable and confident in a certain style? You want to feel beautiful on your wedding day, but also comfortable enough to dance the night away. Once you've found a dress that ticks all three boxes, chances are it's THE ONE.

You'll need to allow ample time for alterations. Once you've found THE dress, it's not quite time to relax just yet. Most brides need to schedule several fittings in order for their gown to fit perfectly. Alterations usually take 4-6 weeks, so be sure to factor that into your timeline.

Shopping for your wedding dress should be an enjoyable experience—after all, it's not every day that you get to wear a beautiful white gown! Follow the tips above and trust your gut. Soon enough, you'll be walking down the aisle in the dress of your dreams! Congratulations and happy shopping!

Hey everyone! We are launching our summer series of blogs with topics related to all things wedding!

As those wedding invitations arrive in the mail, it's time to think about what the etiquette and responsibilities when attending a wedding. We have compiled a list of  things to consider when you're a guest at a wedding, such as what to wear and how to behave. Being a wedding guest is both an honor and a responsibility. It's vital that you show your respect for the bride and groom by following some basic etiquette rules.

  1. Do dress appropriately for the wedding. This means avoiding anything that is too casual or too formal. The invitation or wedding website should indicate wedding attire.
  2. Do RSVP in a timely manner. This lets the couple know how many people to expect and helps them with their planning.
  3. Do arrive on time. If the ceremony is at 5:00PM, try to arrive at least 15 minutes early. This gives you time to find your seat and settle in before the ceremony begins.
  4. Do turn off your phone during the ceremony and reception.
  5. Do be respectful of the religion and traditions of the wedding.
  6. Do be considerate of the other guests. This means not talking too loudly, dancing inoffensively, and being generally mindful of others.
  7. Don't wear white or anything that could upstage the bride.
  8. Don't get too drunk. It's fine to have a few drinks, but don't overdo it.
  9. Don't take photos during the ceremony. Wait until after the couple has had their moment and be present in the moment. Don't forget they paid for a professional photographer. Leave the photos to them.
  10. Lastly, don't be a diva. This day is not about you. Leave your drama at home!

At the end of the day, the wedding is all about the bride and groom. Make sure that you keep them in mind throughout the entire process. Be respectful, be considerate, and most importantly - have fun!

We had an incredible team of wedding pros who created an entire weekend of fabulous luxury.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to:

We had the best time with Madeleine and Dustin.  Though they both live in the Washington DC area, Madeleine grew up on Palm Beach and her family still lives there.  So for her, she knew exactly where she wanted to get married.  St. Edward's Catholic Church and The Flagler Museum were Madeleine's dream wedding locations.

During the process we shared lots of texts, emails, facetime calls, and jammed meetings into a few weekends...and the whole time we laughed so hard!  And Dustin is just the most romantic, big-hearted guy ever...there is nothing he wouldn't do for Madeleine.

From the incredible rehearsal dinner at Eau Palm Beach the wedding day festivities, it was an extraordinary weekend!

Thank you so much to everyone who made it all happen.

It was a wedding planner dream come true....The Royal Wedding of Meghan and Harry did not disappoint.   We saw some posts criticizing her dress or complaining about the sermon.  But from our perspective the most important thing was that they were true to themselves!  All of our Fabuluxe Brides have heard us tell them that 1000s of times.  Stay true to who you are.  We are celebrating two individuals who have decided to spend their lives together.

The BBC Tweeted "Find Someone who looks at you the way Harry looks at Meghan" and we couldn't agree more!

The little things were so special - the way he told her "I'm so Lucky", the way she smiled at him, the way he caressed her hand during the ceremony and in the carriage ride.  This wasn't a royal marriage for political reasons.  This was truly a love match!

And both of her dresses were gorgeous.  They matched her.  That's what you want your wedding dress to do.  The details of the floral embroidery on her veil were perfection.  Her natural beauty shined through her make up.  The tiara was stunning and meaningful.  Harry even handpicked the flowers from her bouquet from their gardens at Kensington Palace.  The subtle and heartwarming remembrances of Princess Diana were just right.

“We must discover the power of love, the redemptive power of love. And when we discover that, we will be able to make of this old world a new world. Love is the only way.” Dr. Martin Luther King as restated by Bishop Curry....It was exactly right and fit for a couple who believes in fighting for social justice.  And an added bonus was watching the expressions on the faces of the royal family and guests...they didn't quite know what do with this fiery preacher...and to follow with a gospel choir...LOVE...and the choir was relatively reserved!

The official portraits by Alexi Lubomirski were just lovely.

We will say it again, they were true to themselves and that is what a wedding should always be, in our humble opinion! And we hope that this wedding brings back simple elegance as a trend!
