Uh Oh, you are attending a wedding and don't know what to wear! Well we have the answers on all things fashion. Follow the tips below and you will be "in-style"!

Fashion Do's and Don'ts for Wedding Guests

As a wedding guest, you want to look your best while respecting the bride and groom's wishes. To ensure that you make a great impression, here are some fashion do's and don'ts for wedding guests.

When it comes to weddings, there is nothing worse than being the guest who stands out for all the wrong reasons. Whether it's because you're wearing too much white or your outfit is just plain inappropriate, it's important to dress appropriately for the occasion. After all, the last thing you want is to upstage the bride or be the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons.

To help you avoid any fashion faux pas, here are a few do's and don'ts for wedding guests:

  • Do dress your age. Just because you're over 50 doesn't mean you have to wear matronly clothing. However, avoid dressing like you're still in your 20s. The key is to find a happy medium that allows you to feel comfortable and stylish at the same time.
  • Do avoid wearing all white. Unless specifically told by the bride that guests can wear white, avoid it at all costs. You don't want to upstage the bride or look like you're trying to steal her thunder. Instead, opt for muted colors or prints that will complement the bride's dress without overshadowing it.
  • Do take cues from the invitation. The invitation should give you a good idea of what kind of event it will be. If it's a black-tie affair, then you'll know to dress accordingly. However, if it's a more casual affair, then you can get away with wearing something a little more relaxed.
  • Don't forget about accessories. Your outfit isn't complete until you've added the finishing touches. A statement necklace or flashy earrings can really help to pull an outfit together and make you look more put-together. Just be sure not to go overboard - less is almost always more when it comes to accessories.
  • Don't wear revealing clothing. Even if it's a beach wedding, there's no need to show off too much skin. You want to look stylish and chic, not trashy or tacky. Avoid anything that is too short, too tight, or has a plunging neckline. Not only will you be more comfortable, but you'll also avoid any embarrassing fashion mishaps.

When it comes to fashion, wedding guests often make one of two mistakes - they either dress too formally or too casually. To avoid making either mistake, take cues from the invitation and keep your outfit age-appropriate while avoiding anything that is too revealing or showy (such as all-white). With these simple tips in mind, you'll be sure to make a great impression at any wedding celebration!

Can you guys believe we are in the middle of December?!  Holy crap! 2020 was INSANE.

We have been fortunate that we have been able to have several post lockdown weddings.  Though they looked a little different and we had new rules to follow, the celebration of LOVE was overflowing.

We hope you enjoy their wedding.  It was a true celebration of love for these two.  They have been together through high school, college, dental school and now off to residency in Texas.  They share a deep love and a strong faith and it shows in their photos!

Casey and Rachelle had to find a new venue 4 weeks before the wedding.  We went into overdrive and were so blessed that The Ben Hotel, Downtown West Palm stepped in and helped us create magic.  We met with the Chef and learned about enhanced safety procedures in food service, we learned all about the new sanitizing procedures at the hotel (that were all natural and chemical free), and we learned how the staff was being educated and trained on new safety procedures.  Extensive communication with the guests allowed them to make informed decisions on whether or not to attend the wedding. All of these steps were critical in making sure we created the safest possible wedding celebration.  We complied with all state and local guidelines (at this time there was no mask mandate in palm beach county - it was optional for guests....all staff and vendors wore masks).

As always, we are only as good as the team around us!  So a huge thank you to the following:

Hey Y'all!  Hope everyone had a great 4th of July weekend!  This week we wanted to share some of the 2017 Trends that we love and can't wait to incorporate into your wedding day!

1.  Drip Cakes - We are so excited to see this trend.  It can be quite sophisticated and quite casual depending on your cake artist.

2.  The Navy Suit or Tux - Navy isn't as harsh as black and yet still can be worn in a formal setting.  But the great thing is that a Navy Suit can look great at an outdoor wedding, a beach wedding, a formal wedding or just about any event imaginable!  (Besides, if a Navy Suit is good enough for Ryan Gosling, who are we to complain?!)

3.  Geometric shapes - We loving geometric shapes in weddings.  Whether it is ceremony decor, table centerpieces or hanging decor; it adds a sophisticated, modern vibe to your wedding.

4.  Mixed Metals - Trust us when we say that mixed metals and metallics in general, are not going anywhere!

5.  And finally, Hanging Decor - Hanging flowers, candles, lanterns, etc from different heights can add many layers to your look.  Whether it is for the ceremony, cocktails, or reception; hanging decor is a nice change and draws the eye around the space.  (Just check with your venue on the rules of how to hang your decor.)

We will keep you all posted on those hot and upcoming wedding trends!  See you next week for Kimmy and Sean's Wedding Blog!
