Holy Cow!  January is almost over and this is my first blog of 2013.   How did that happen...well a little thing called the flu invaded our house for about 2 weeks and let me just say it was not pretty!

So we finished our first wedding of 2013 and it was absolutely beautiful.  If you haven't checked out the Spanish River Library in Boca Raton, do so.  It is an incredible wedding or party venue and the staff is amazing to work with...super nice!

It's hard to believe but we are already booking weddings for 2014.  However we do have select dates available still for 2013.  Please email jennifer@fabuluxeevents.com to inquire about our available dates and pricing.

Now the big question, who watched the 20/20 special last Friday night...Wedding Confidential.  Well the response from wedding professionals around the country has been swift and very critical of the show and the "journalisim".  Here are some links to what others in our industry had to say.

It all goes back to what I have said many times before.  It is important to build a relationship with your chosen wedding professionals, do check their references, educate yourself on what they provide and the difference between a professional and a hobbyist.  Most of all remember that 99.9% of people in the wedding industry do it because they love what they do.  They love helping you create the most amazing day in your life.  They love getting to know you on a personal level and creating new relationships.  They love seeing the emotional side of you, your family and friends and knowing that they got to be a part of it. Yes, they are business people and yes, they do need to make money to pay bills and put food on the table.  But no, we do not raise prices just because the word "wedding" is involved.  Everyone prices themselves differently, but in general pricing is based on experience, years in business, types of work done, how many hours go into the wedding and other tangibles and intangibles.

We look forward to working with more amazing people in 2013 and beyond!

Have a Fabuluxe Day!

Hi All, Hope everyone is well.  We have been super busy with weddings this fall!  Can't believe it is November already and that Thanksgiving is next week.  Where does the time go?!

The music will set the tone and the mood for the different aspects of the ceremony and reception or any party.  The music should become part of the overall theme of the day and will help set the tone, mood and atmosphere.

Then there is the question of whether or not to go with a DJ or a Live Band for the reception and what about the ceremony music?  It can get rather overwhelming.

We love the idea of a string quartet or a musical trio during the ceremony.  There is something so timeless and elegant about it.  How about the violinist strolling through your cocktail hour and taking requests from the guests?  Such a sophisticated feel for the day.
Do you want the high energy of a DJ but don’t want the cheesy stuff…(can’t imagine why not everyone wants the chicken dance at their wedding..lol).  This is not a problem.  Don’t be scared of having a DJ because you don’t want some of the crazy group dances.  A good DJ has a meeting with you before the wedding and will go over everything…what is acceptable, what is not acceptable, what types of music do you like, how to pronounce every one’s names correctly, are there any anniversaries or birthdays that you want to acknowledge, etc.  A good DJ can judge the mood of the crowd and knows when to kick up it a notch or when to slow things down.  A good DJ  doesn’t take over the party, but helps create the party.

A live band can really ramp up a party!  Before hiring any band see if you can watch them in person somewhere.  Have them send you links to videos and definitely speak with past clients.  Recently we worked with an amazing band that had the party going and the dancefloor was never empty.  Check out the Jerry Wayne Band.  Holy cow, this band was fabulous!  This coming weekend we are working with another amazing band  Beth and Command Performance  If your budget allows a band is a huge crowd pleaser and they can create an energy like nothing else you have seen.

Then there is the question of an IPOD or IPAD for your musical selections.  This NOT recommended by us.  Yes you will have a variety of music being played…but that is it.  There is no one to make announcements such as time for the cake, first dance, mother/son dance, father/daughter dance.  No one is working with the flow of the event or checking the mood of the guests.

Definitely choose your music carefully and feel free to reach out to us with any questions.

Hi everyone!  Hope you are having a wonderful week so far.  We are getting super excited about Meghan and Bill's wedding this weekend at Jonathan's Landing in Jupiter,FL.  We have 3 days of amazing events planned!

I know it may sound silly or even cheesy, but we are so honored and blessed to work with you on your wedding!  We get to know you over a period of months or even a year as we work together to plan your perfect day.  You become part of our family.  So in the spirit of working together productively, here are some tips on building fabulous relationships with your wedding professionals.

1.  Remember that your vendors are professionals.  Working on weddings and other special events is how we make our living.  We all truly understand that economic times are difficult right now.

2.  Please be realistic with your expectations and your budget.  There is so much info out on the Internet and it can be overwhelming.  But, you can get a general sense of what things cost by doing a little research before meeting with your vendors.

3.  Please communicate with us.  The reason we ask so many questions is so that we can provide the ultimate in customer service for you.  We ask that when we email or call you, the email is responded to or the call returned as soon as possible.  At Fabuluxe Events, we respond to all emails and phone calls within 1 business day.  We want to make your dreams a reality, make your vision come to life, to do this we need your input.

4.  In relation to the topic above, please understand that many of us have families, etc.  We will respond to you quickly and in a professional manner.  However, please don't expect a return email at midnight or during our dinner timer with our families.  Treat us the way you want to be treated.

Our goal is to make your wedding day as special and unique as you are!  Don't forget to check out our website at www.fabuluxeevents.com !

Have a great day.
