Happy New Year Y'All!  We hope that 2018 is off to a fantastic start for you!  We are so excited about the new year and all of the wonderful new possibilities it brings!

Bridal shows and expos are great for some brides and vendors.  They can be a great way to meet other wedding vendors for your wedding but there are reasons why not everyone participates in them.

1.  They cost a lot of money - most shows can cost anywhere from $750-2,500 just for the booth (not including takeaways, booth decor, printed materials and more).   Bridal shows can be super-crowded and if you are just looking to get cards and postcards so you can reach out to vendors later..great.   But as a small business we have made the decision that money could be better spent on learning opportunities for our team, creating webinars and other materials for you as the couple and other fun things.

2.  Maybe we weren't invited to that particular show.  Most venues/shows invite the vendors that fit their target couple.  Maybe we aren't the right fit for that venue or show's target demographic.  Maybe we just don't know the people involved in creating the show...and that's ok.  There are so many talented wedding professionals in our area, at all price points.

3.  We aren't selling a product - We are selling a service.  Many shows are geared more to the vendors that sell an actual product that you can see, feel, taste, touch.  We sell a product or as we call it - We sell Peace of Mind and Expertise in Wedding Planning.  That can be really hard to explain when you get 1-3 minutes with each of you.  And we can't fully assess your needs in such a short amount of time.  We offer FREE consultations so that we can sit down and have a meaningful conversation on the best ways we can work together!

Our goal with each and every couple is to create a magical, memorable wedding experience.  We want you to have "all the feels" and not miss a moment of the emotions.  We don't want you to worry about the logistics, timing and vendors.  We want you to have your day with your loved ones and family!

Happy Planning and we can't wait to meet you in 2018!

So, who is going to the Palm Beach Brides Bridal Show on September 30 at the Palm Beach County Convention Center?  It is the biggest bridal show in our area and we thought it would be helpful to share some tips on getting the most out of the show.

  • First of all be prepared to be overwhelmed.  There will be lots of vendors and lots of information and you will feel like you are on wedding overload...That is ok.
  • Bring one trusted friend or your mom or a bridesmaid with you.  If you bring an entourage, it can be even more chaotic.  Lots of opinions, everyone wanting to see different vendors and try different foods and opinions galore...Why not go to lunch with mom or your maid of honor and then spend the afternoon or evening wandering through the show?  You can make it a nice moment for the two of you.
  • Make a list of the types of vendors that you haven't solidified yet and make sure to go to those tables first.
  • Be open to other types of vendors that you hadn't planned on using.  You never know what great ideas you will find.
  • The best opportunity to talk with a vendor one-on-one will be at the very beginning of the show, during the fashion show or at the very end of the show.
  • Do taste the different foods and desserts that are being offered.
  • Do bring a bottle of water with you.
  • Wear comfortable shoes...this may sound silly but you will be spending quite a bit of time on your feet, walking around, etc.
  • Go with your instincts...If you meet a vendor and instantly feel a connection or feel comfortable with them go ahead and set up an appointment to meet with that vendor for a day and time after the bridal show.  It could be the start of a truly great relationship.
  • Most of all have FUN!  There will be plenty of opportunities to win prizes, meet great people and find great people to work with you on your wedding day.
  • Don't go to the show thinking "I just want to get a bunch of free stuff", Yes there will be free stuff but there is also a real opportunity to learn some tricks in planning your big day, meet fabulous vendors and make new friends.
  • If you go there with an "us vs them" attitude you won't have any fun and trust me, that isn't good for anyone!

Remember to have an open mind, have fun and really get into the spirit of the day.
